In September 2026 Leonardo entrusted Mecaer Aviation Group, based in Borgomanero, with developing a system that regulates the temperature and pressurization of helicopter cabins, as part of the «Crescere Insieme» programme, through which Leonardo's Helicopter Division aims to bring back to Italy strategic supplies currently purchased abroad. In December 2022 Borgomanero hosted, in a private home, one of the largest nativity scenes in Piedmont, a work of almost thirty square metres with about a thousand figurines made by retiree Marco Simonotti.
