Agreement between Torrazza Piemonte and Telt for the Turin-Lyon railway overpass

On 30 October 2026 the city executive of Torrazza Piemonte, in the Province of Turin, approves a new agreement with the company Telt for the temporary occupation of land along Strada Bergolo Monferrina, needed to extend the railway overpass and for the construction sites of the Turin-Lyon high-speed rail line.

The city executive (Giunta) of Torrazza Piemonte, led by mayor Massimo Rozzino, approves a new draft agreement with the company Telt for the temporary occupation of certain plots of land along Strada Bergolo Monferrina. The agreement covers the areas needed for the logistical management of the construction sites of the new Turin-Lyon high-speed rail line.1
The railway overpass and construction areas
At the centre of the project is the extension of the existing railway overpass (cavalcaferrovia), needed to cross over the new set of shunting tracks. The structure allows the passage of the link used to carry excavated earth and rock to the former Goretta quarry. The new measure updates earlier provisions, including an additional area requested by Telt for logistical needs.1
For the temporary occupation of the land, estimated at around six months, Telt pays the municipality €24,102 as a Single Property Fee (Canone Unico Patrimoniale). Should the works run longer than planned, the amount is recalculated according to the actual months of use. For a second construction area, the municipal administration checks whether the cost of the new fencing borne by Telt exceeds the fee owed, in which case it may ask for the difference.1
Roads and road safety
At the request of the Municipality of Torrazza Piemonte and the Metropolitan City of Turin, the agreement includes requirements Telt must meet to keep roads usable during the various construction phases. The planned works include installing a permanent traffic light at the junction of Strada Bergolo Monferrina and Provincial Road 90, as well as building two raised pedestrian crossings to protect pedestrians.1
Once the works are complete, the Municipality and the Metropolitan City of Turin will assess whether to keep these structures permanently for the benefit of local road traffic.1
