2026 edition of Bra's in memory of Carlo Petrini

Bra's is the national festival of sausage, cheese, bread and rice held in Bra, in the province of Cuneo.1 The 2026 edition took place from 17 to 20 September, with the town transformed for four days into a widespread stage dedicated to food and wine excellence, culture, music, tourism and conviviality, in a programme designed to showcase Piedmontese identity to an ever wider audience.1

The 2026 edition held particular significance for the area, taking place in memory of Slow Food founder Carlo Petrini, who from Bra helped spread around the world a food culture founded on quality, respect for producers, care for the land and the social and cultural value of food.1 The programme brought the town's squares, streets and symbolic sites to life with food events, show cooking, masterclasses, tastings, spaces for families, cultural initiatives, free concerts and tourist itineraries, involving a chain of producers, consortia, shops, restaurateurs, institutions and local associations.1

Particular attention was paid to inclusivity and accessibility: thanks to the collaboration with Uici Piemonte, as part of the Vista Senza Limiti ("Sight Without Limits") project run by Confcommercio Provincia di Cuneo, and with the support of the Piedmont Region, the festival's menus were made accessible to blind and visually impaired people through Braille transcriptions and scannable QR codes, produced using 3D-printed supports.1
