Walk & Talk with Sorrisi in Rosa in Poirino (2026)

"Walk & Talk with Sorrisi in Rosa" is an event dedicated to breast health awareness held in Poirino, in the province of Turin, on Sunday 11 October 2026, in its third edition. The initiative was carried out in scientific partnership with the Humanitas hospitals of Turin and in collaboration with the Fondazione Humanitas per la Ricerca.[1][2]

The programme

The morning was organized in two parts: at 9.30 am the start of the Camminata in rosa (Pink Walk), a 3-kilometre route from Piazza Morioni ending at the Agrigelateria San Pè; at 11.00 am the official greetings, followed by the talk "10 anni con Sorrisi in Rosa" (10 years with Sorrisi in Rosa), during which writer Cristina Barberis Negra and some of the project's testimonials recounted the birth and development of the initiative through videos, readings and personal accounts.[1][2]

The event was open not only to women, but also to companions, families and anyone wishing to take part in support of breast health awareness.[1][2]

The Sorrisi in Rosa project

Sorrisi in Rosa is a project begun ten years ago by Humanitas breast specialists in collaboration with writer Cristina Barberis Negra and photographer Luisa Morniroli. Its protagonists are women who have gone through a breast cancer diagnosis at the Humanitas hospitals of Rozzano, Milan, Bergamo, Turin, Castellanza and Catania, and their subsequent path of rebirth. The project's testimonials now number more than 170 and, recognizable by their pink scarves, take part in various events across Italy to promote prevention and early diagnosis.[1][2]

Part of the proceeds of the walk was donated to the Fondazione Humanitas per la Ricerca, in support of the Pink Union project, dedicated to women's health and research into new treatments for women's conditions.[1][2]
