Vladimir Luxuria
Vladimir Luxuria directs the Lovers Film Festival in Turin, an international film event dedicated to LGBTQI+ themes (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and intersex), founded by Giovanni Minerba and Ottavio Mai and run by the Museo Nazionale del Cinema in Turin. The festival is held with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Piedmont Region and the City of Turin [1][2].
Direction of the Lovers Film Festival
Under Luxuria's direction, the festival keeps its international vocation, presenting feature films, documentaries and short films from around the world that address the various nuances of LGBTQI+ identities, experiences and struggles for rights [1]. The event's opening is traditionally held at the Mole Antonelliana [1][2].
The 2027 edition
On 7 October 2026 Luxuria presented the 42nd edition of the Lovers Film Festival, scheduled in Turin from 15 to 20 April 2027 at the Cinema Massimo, the multiplex of the Museo Nazionale del Cinema [1][2]. The edition takes place a few months before EuroPride 2027, which for the first time in its history will be hosted in Turin: "This will be a special edition, taking place a few months before EuroPride, which will be — for the first time in its history — in Turin," Luxuria said [1][2].
Among the themes at the centre of the programme is a focus on violence against minors in the world of sport, with films and documentaries devoted to the subject accompanied by first-hand testimonies [1][2]. A special tribute is also planned for Emma Bonino for her commitment to the fight for civil and social rights, to be paid during the opening at the Mole Antonelliana [1][2].
