Turin foundations with a default page
The domain torinowireless.it was home to the Fondazione Torino Wireless, the Piedmontese technology district for ICT: in 2009 the site described its research, technology transfer and business support activities, based at corso Galileo Ferraris 64 in Turin.1
In 2025 the same address redirected to piemonteinnova.it, the website of the Fondazione Piemonte Innova, heir to the district,2 but when queried directly the old domain torinowireless.it today returns only the server's default page: «Apache2 Debian Default Page: It works».3
The domain piemontemese.it was born in 2009 from the merger of the website piemonte-magazine.it, online since 2002, and the print magazine «Piemonte Mese», published since 2005, becoming a free online monthly dedicated to Piedmontese culture, tourism and crafts.4 Still updated in March 2026 with reviews of Turin exhibitions,5 the site today responds with a «Database Error» message.6
A similar fate befell pyou.it, the Piedmont youth card, which appears «under maintenance».7
The domain torinowireless.it, from the Fondazione Torino Wireless to the technology district
On 12 July 2007 the Web Archive records the domain torinowireless.it as the website of the Fondazione Torino Wireless, presented as «the Piedmontese technology district that integrates research, business and venture capital», with a project dedicated to low-power wireless solutions for intrusion detection.
From magazine to maintenance page: the domain pyou.it
The domain pyou.it, in the first traced snapshot from 20 October 2002, hosts the website of the news outlet «Machina» of the Machina Web Network, registered with the Court of Rome under number 499/99 of 8 November 1999 and directed by Giacomo Carioti. In the last live snapshot traced, from 23 September 2026, the domain instead shows a generic maintenance page («Site is undergoing maintenance»), with no editorial content, carrying the copyright «© PYou 2026».
Three other addresses in the archive
The domain torinowireless.it, today traced to the Fondazione Torino Wireless, shows in 2007 the full website of the "Piedmontese technology district that integrates research, business and venture capital"; the last available snapshot, from 23 September 2026, no longer preserves its content. The domain piemontemese.it, with the periodical "Piemonte Mese" already active since 2005, still appeared updated with "Chi siamo" and "Storia e testimoni" pages in August 2024 and active at least until 5 March 2026.
The domain torinowireless.it before the website went live
Before the website of the Fondazione Torino Wireless went into operation — active according to the web archive from July 2007, with the description «the Piedmontese technology district that integrates research, business and venture capital» — a snapshot from 27 June 2003 shows the domain torinowireless.it occupied by the provider's default page.

The domain piemontemese.it, from the merger of two magazines to the online monthly (2002-2026)
The website piemontemese.it was born from the merger of two editorial ventures about Piedmont: piemonte-magazine.it, the largest private site covering the region's culture, places, crafts and food and wine, online since early 2002, and the print magazine «Piemonte Mese», published since 2005 and among the first to make the transition from print to online. In 2009 the two publications merged into piemontemese.it, a free online monthly directed by Nico Ivaldi with the editorial direction of Lucilla Cremoni and Michelangelo Carta. The outlet is run by the Associazione Culturale Piemonte Mese, which also awards the identically named journalism prize reserved for young people between 18 and 35, with the patronage, among others, of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities. The archive's snapshots show the site still active with articles on culture and art up to 2026.

In the snapshot from 20 October 2002, the domain pyou.it shows only the outlet «Machina», a periodical on image, entertainment, communication and society registered with the Court of Rome under number 499/99 of 8 November 1999, with Giacomo Carioti as editor-in-chief. In the snapshot from June 2003 the same page, still under the name of Giacomo Carioti, instead carries the outlet «Bancatel», registered under a different number with the Press Section of the Court of Rome. In subsequent snapshots, from 2013 to 2023, the domain appears blank or parked.
torinowireless.it, piemontemese.it and pyou.it in the archive's snapshots

The domain pyou.it, in the snapshots from 20 October 2002 and 18 June 2003, instead shows only a page with no title («Untitled Document»).
The Fondazione Torino Wireless's domain: from 2003 to silence after 2022
The Internet Archive's first save dates from 27 June 2003, when the page was still a placeholder. In July 2007 the site presented itself with its institutional description: «the Piedmontese technology district that integrates research, business and venture capital». The archive's captures continue up to 2022, after which the domain remains silent until a single isolated scan in September 2026.

The website torinowireless.it of the Fondazione Torino Wireless
The website torinowireless.it described in 2007 the Fondazione Torino Wireless as the Piedmontese technology district that integrates research, business and venture capital, with a stated focus on low-power wireless solutions for intrusion detection.
The domain torinowireless.it, from the blank page to the technology district website
The first available snapshot of torinowireless.it, dated June 2003, shows a registrar page with no content; only in July 2007 does the archive record the website of the Fondazione Torino Wireless, which describes itself as «the Piedmontese technology district that integrates research, business and venture capital».
The domain pyou.it, never gone beyond the «Untitled Document» page
The domain pyou.it never had a website of its own: the web archive's first capture, from 20 October 2002, shows only a generic «Untitled Document» page with the name of the news outlet Machina Web Network, registered with the Court of Rome; in the capture from 18 June 2003 the same page instead indicates the outlet Bancatel, under the direction of the same editor, but with the identical default title.
torinowireless.it
The domain torinowireless.it, collected by the web archive from June 2003, initially showed only a default page from the provider; from July 2007 the website of the Fondazione Torino Wireless appears there instead, presented as the Piedmontese technology district that integrates research, business and venture capital.
The domain torinowireless.it, from the default page to the real website
The first snapshot of the domain torinowireless.it, from 27 June 2003, still shows the hosting provider's default page, with no content of its own. Only in the snapshot from 12 July 2007 does the domain host the real website of the Fondazione Torino Wireless, described as «the Piedmontese technology district that integrates research, business and venture capital».
pyou.it and torinowireless.it, two addresses that ended up empty
The domain pyou.it is captured by the web archive in October 2002 and again in June 2003 with only the text «Untitled Document», the default page left by the site's software, with no content of its own. The domain torinowireless.it, belonging to the Fondazione Torino Wireless, shows in July 2007 the presentation of the Piedmontese technology district that integrates research, business and venture capital; in the capture from 23 September 2026 it no longer returns any content of its own.
torinowireless.it, from blank page to the technology district website
The web archive's first capture of torinowireless.it, from 27 June 2003, shows a blank page, with no content at all. The site takes shape only later: in the capture from 12 July 2007 it presents itself as the website of the Fondazione Torino Wireless, described as «the Piedmontese technology district that integrates research, business and venture capital».
torinowireless.it, piemontemese.it, pyou.it
The domain torinowireless.it, registered from 27 June 2003, initially shows a blank page; from 12 July 2007 it hosts the website of the Fondazione Torino Wireless, with the heading «The Piedmontese technology district that integrates research, business and venture capital», a formula still active in the last snapshot kept by the archive, from 23 September 2026. The domain piemontemese.it is online from 25 April 2005 with the magazine «Piemonte Mese», about food, culture and crafts; the site remains active, in its renewed guise «Piemontemese», at least until 5 March 2026. The domain pyou.it, by contrast, shows, between 2002 and 2003, content unrelated to Turin: the Rome-based news outlets Machina and Bancatel.
Three domains of Piedmontese foundations and outlets in the web archive
The domain piemontemese.it is photographed as early as 25 April 2005, when it presented itself as «a periodical dedicated to those who live in and love» Piedmont.4 In the copies from 13 July 2024 and 5 March 2026 the site, under the name «Piemontemese», still appeared active;56 the «Chi siamo» page recounts that the site was born from the merger of two editorial ventures, the older of which, piemonte-magazine.it, dates back to early 2002.7
The domain pyou.it instead shows, in both copies collected in 2002 and 2003, a page with the generic title «Untitled Document», used for two different news outlets registered with the Court of Rome: «Machina» in 2002 and «Bancatel» in 2003.89
piemontemese.it: from the merger of two outlets to the Premio Piemonte Mese
The two publications merged in 2009 into piemontemese.it, a free online monthly dedicated to Piedmont, with ten issues a year (the December-January and July-August issues being combined); at the time of the capture the editor-in-chief was Nico Ivaldi.[1]
pyou.it: from the outlet «Machina» to «Bancatel» (2002-2003)
The first snapshot of the domain pyou.it, from 20 October 2002, hosts the news outlet «Machina Web Network», registered with the Court of Rome under number 499/99 of 8 November 1999, directed by Giacomo Carioti and dedicated to image, entertainment, communication and society.[1] In the snapshot from 18 June 2003 the same domain instead hosts the outlet «Bancatel», registered with the Press Section of the Court of Rome under number 287/92, directed by the same Giacomo Carioti.[2]
The «Storia e testimoni» section of piemontemese.it
In July 2024 the site still hosted a «Storia e testimoni» («History and witnesses») section, with articles by contributors on episodes of Piedmontese history: from the 1386 Canavese revolt to the 1968 Biella flood, from the racial laws as covered in the «Gazzetta del Popolo» to the sinking of the Andrea Doria.
Three addresses in the web archive
The domain piemontemese.it, first collected on 25 April 2005, belonged to the online periodical «Piemonte Mese», born in 2005.
Other details from the snapshots of piemontemese.it
In the snapshot from 25 April 2005, presenting the periodical's launch, piemontemese.it described its editorial journey as a trip «tra borghi e castelli, sulle vette di Torino 2006» («among villages and castles, on the peaks of Turin 2006»), tying the outlet's debut to the mood of that year's Winter Olympics.1
The «Il progetto» page, dedicated to the Premio Piemonte Mese, also recalled collaborations with the universities of Piedmont and, in particular, a long partnership with Coldiretti Torino; for the 2017 edition the deadline for submitting entries was set at 19 November of that year, with the award ceremony planned for December.2
