"Tra i fili c'è Pinocchio" ("Pinocchio among the strings") is an exhibition held from 6 November to 6 December 2026 in the windows of the Urp (Ufficio relazioni con il pubblico, public relations office) at via Arsenale 14 in Turin. The exhibition is promoted by the Regional Council of Piedmont on the occasion of the two-hundredth anniversary of the birth of Carlo Collodi, the pen name of the writer who authored the novel "The Adventures of Pinocchio" [1][2].

The exhibition

The exhibition is curated by the Fondazione Marionette Grilli. On display in the Urp's windows is a giant Pinocchio puppet made in 2025 for the Teatro Regio in Turin. One section is dedicated to the American-made "Geppetto and Pinocchio", with books, postcards and posters about Pinocchio in various languages [1][2].

Also on display are two contemporary paintings by the artist Akira Zakamoto, alias Luca Motolese, together with the official poster for the celebrations of Collodi's two-hundredth anniversary. A chocolate Pinocchio made by an artisan workshop recalls the episode in the novel in which the puppet enters a pastry shop [2].

The library workshop

On Saturday 7 November, at 11 a.m., in the new premises of the Piedmont Region Library on via Alfieri 13, a free storytelling workshop for families titled "Nel paese dei Pinocchi" ("In the land of Pinocchios") is held, aimed at children from age 4 according to one source and from age 3 according to another. Taking part is the writer and reading-promotion expert Valeria De Cubellis [1][2].

The event offers a journey discovering Pinocchio and how the character has been taken up by other authors, from Gianni Rodari to Umberto Eco, after whom the Piedmont Region library is named [1][2].
