Torino Crime Festival

The Torino Crime Festival is a cultural event in Turin dedicated to exploring crime as a lens through which to observe society, its fears and contradictions, weaving together anthropology, criminology, psychology, archaeology and investigation. The festival is held every year in museums, theatres, historic buildings and cultural venues across the city, involving investigators, criminologists, psychiatrists, writers, artists and scholars.[1][2]

The 2026 edition

The eleventh edition, from 8 to 11 October 2026, is themed «The power of ritual» and offers a journey through ritual as a social device, a form of belonging and control, a language of power, and a recurring element in criminal and investigative dynamics.[1][2] Guests include Adriano Favole, Jack Cambria, Matteo Rampin and Carlo Lucarelli.[1] The opening, on 8 October at the Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali, is dedicated to «The mark of Cain», on the history and anthropology of tattooing; the closing event, on 11 October at Ogr Torino, is entrusted to Carlo Lucarelli. The programme also includes events for schools and visits to the Musei Reali and the Museo Egizio.[1]

Direction

The festival is directed by Valentina Ciappina, with Fabrizio Vespa as president.[1][2]
