Start of the redevelopment of the former Levi school in Rivoli

On 2 November 2026 the City of Rivoli announced the start of the redevelopment project for the former Levi school, a municipal building on via Allende built in the 1970s. The building, which in the past housed the Casa delle Associazioni (House of Associations) and the Provincial Centre for Adult Education, will be turned into a 152-bed student residence and will also become the new headquarters of the Croce Verde (Green Cross) volunteer ambulance service, as part of an urban regeneration plan worth about three million euros overall [1].
The project
The student residence is budgeted at 2.7 million euros, covering the building's restoration and structural, energy and systems upgrades. The residence will have single and double rooms, accessible spaces for students with disabilities, a study room of more than 200 square metres, shared kitchens and laundries, recreational areas with wi-fi and outdoor bicycle storage [1].
Management and funding
The project will be carried out through a thirty-year development concession awarded to Bd Group, a company specialising in student housing, which will fund and manage the works. This way, the City of Rivoli will be able to redevelop the building at no cost to itself. With the addition of the new Croce Verde headquarters, a social and health care facility, the overall value of the investments in the area rises to about three million euros [1].
Statements and local context
The mayor of Rivoli, Alessandro Errigo, said: «Restoring a public building and giving it back a useful purpose is exactly the kind of project we want to carry out. It is also a key initiative for the Cascine Vica area, which will undergo a major transformation in the coming years» [1]. The complex is a short walk from corso Francia and the future metro stop, which will provide a fast connection to Turin. Bd Group described the project as «a concrete investment in the future of Rivoli, able to offer new services to students and generate value for the whole community» [1].
