Shooting on via Matteo Pescatore (October 2026)
Date of the event:
The shooting on via Matteo Pescatore was an incident of violence that took place during the night between 23 and 24 October 2026 on via Matteo Pescatore, one of the streets of Turin's nightlife scene along the Po, at the end of a brawl between two groups of young people. A 19-year-old of Dominican origin, who worked at one of the venues in the area, was hit by several bullets and admitted in very serious condition to the Molinette hospital; another person close to him was less seriously injured [1].
The brawl and the shooting
According to the police reconstruction, the brawl began at around 1am, when two groups of young people clashed, including the 19-year-old later wounded. After the first clash the situation appeared to have calmed down, but at around half past one one of the young men involved returned to the scene armed with a gun and fired several shots at the 19-year-old, also hitting another person nearby. After the shooting the man fled, not alone but together with other people [1].
Several police patrol cars and ambulances from the 118 emergency medical service responded to the scene, giving first aid to the more seriously wounded young man before he was taken to hospital [1].
The investigation
Police investigators are trying to identify the person who fired the shots and reconstruct in detail the dynamics of the brawl and the shooting. Several witness statements have been collected, and investigators are relying on footage from surveillance cameras in the area to trace those responsible [1].
