Shooting of 24 October 2026 and closure of the Baby bar

On the night between Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October 2026, on via Pescatore, a short distance from piazza Vittorio Veneto, a brawl between two groups of young people turned into a shooting: a nineteen-year-old of Dominican origin, an employee at a venue in the area, was hit several times and taken to the Molinette hospital, while a second young man, caught up by chance, was wounded and underwent surgery. According to the Flying Squad (squadra mobile) of the Turin police headquarters, the attacker had left after an initial scuffle and then returned armed with a gun.

On 27 October 2026 the chief of police (Questore) Massimo Gambino ordered, under article 100 of the consolidated public security law, the thirty-day suspension of the licence of the Baby bar on via Pescatore, where the shooting took place, judging that the episode had disturbed public safety. The investigation into the shooting is led by prosecutor Virginie Tedeschi of the Turin public prosecutor's office.
