Sarah Rizea elected Miss Italia 2026

In the final of Miss Italia 2026, held at the Castello di Santa Severa, the title was awarded to Sarah Maria Rizea, 18, born in Moncalieri on 8 November 2007 and linked to Turin through the early stages of her sporting career [1].

The connection with Turin and Moncalieri

Sarah Rizea was born in Moncalieri and took her first steps in artistic swimming in Turin, at Aquatica Torino, before moving to the Savona area, where she now lives [1]. Although she represented Liguria on her way to the national final, after winning the title of Miss Liguria 2026 in Ospedaletti, her sporting background is rooted in the Piedmontese capital [1].

Her career in artistic swimming

Before winning Miss Italia, Rizea had built up an international record in artistic swimming. She is a member of Italy's senior national team in the discipline and an athlete with the Fiamme Oro of the State Police [1]. In 2024 she won silver at the European Championships in Belgrade in the mixed technical duet, partnered with Filippo Pelati, as well as bronze at the junior World Championships in Lima, in addition to third place at the World Cup Super Final in Budapest [1]. In 2025 she took a further bronze medal at the World Cup stage in Somabay [1]. According to the athlete herself, her career tally includes around a hundred medals between national and international titles [1].

Studies and private life

Rizea finished the liceo linguistico (language-focused high school) in 2026 and enrolled in the psychology faculty [1].
