Sara Sbodio

Sara Sbodio is an Italian local administrator. She is a municipal councillor of Orbassano, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Turin, and since 2 November 2026 has held the office of councillor (assessora) in the city executive (Giunta) led by mayor Cinzia Bosso.[1]

Appointment as councillor

On 2 November 2026 the mayor of Orbassano, Cinzia Bosso, formalized by decree the appointment of Sara Sbodio as the town's new councillor (assessora). Sbodio was given responsibility for Welfare, Equal Opportunities, School Meals and Food, left vacant after the revocation of councillor Francesca Tamburello's appointment.[1]

With Sbodio joining, the Orbassano city executive (Giunta) returned to five members besides the mayor: deputy mayor Maurizio Zaffino and councillors Paolo Marocco, Andrea Nava and Nino Russo.[1]

Context of the appointment

Sbodio's entry into the city executive came at the end of a political affair involving the centre-right majority in Orbassano. The revocation of Francesca Tamburello's appointment followed the departure of councillors Giovanni Falsone and Davide Simari from Fratelli d'Italia, who had chosen to continue their administrative experience in the mixed group while still supporting mayor Bosso. Tamburello had publicly disputed the decision to leave her post, claiming she had been asked to resign or change party.[1]

In announcing Sbodio's appointment, mayor Bosso described the change as consistent with the mandate shared at the start of the term, thanking the new councillor for her work as a municipal councillor.[1]
