Cinzia Bosso

Cinzia Bosso is the mayor of Orbassano, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Turin, heading a centre-right city executive (Giunta).

Tensions within the majority

In autumn 2026 the majority supporting mayor Bosso goes through a phase of internal tension. Two councillors, Giovanni Falsone and Davide Simari, leave Fratelli d'Italia and decide to continue their administrative experience in the mixed group, while still supporting the mayor [1]. Deputy mayor Maurizio Zaffino, considered close to the two councillors who left the party, keeps his post [1].

In this context Bosso revokes the appointment of councillor (assessore) Francesca Tamburello. Tamburello publicly disputes the decision, claiming she had been asked either to leave her post or to change party [1]. The tensions involve not only the local Fratelli d'Italia group, but also the provincial and regional levels of the centre-right [1].

Reshaping of the city executive

On 2 November 2026 Bosso formalizes by decree the appointment of Sara Sbodio as new councillor (assessora), with responsibility for Welfare, Equal Opportunities, School Meals and Food, left vacant after the revocation of Tamburello's appointment [1]. With Sbodio joining, the city executive (Giunta) returns to five members besides the mayor: deputy mayor Maurizio Zaffino and councillors Paolo Marocco, Andrea Nava and Nino Russo [1].

In announcing the appointment, Bosso attributes the change to shifts in the majority's political balance, describing it as a step consistent with the mandate shared at the start of the term [1].
