Roberto Vannacci
Roberto Vannacci is a retired general of the Italian Army, a Member of the European Parliament, and the leader of the Futuro Nazionale party.
On 18 September 2026 he took part in Turin, as a speaker, in a conference on urban security titled «Urban Insecurity: the Role of Institutions and Entrepreneurs», organized by the police union Fsp and hosted at the NH hotel on Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. The conference, initially reserved for State Police officers, had Vannacci as its only political figure invited as a speaker, alongside Libero's co-editor Pietro Senaldi. In his speech he criticized Turin's mayor Stefano Lo Russo over the management of urban security.
Vannacci's arrival was accompanied by a protest rally organized by the Askatasuna social center together with collectives and student movements, joined in their statements by Anpi and other associations including Arci, Cgil and Fiom, as well as by a march of about two hundred people through the streets of the city center.
