Purchase of Palazzo Perrone di San Martino by Fondazione CRT

On 8 October 2026 the Fondazione CRT announced that it had purchased Palazzo Perrone di San Martino, at via XX Settembre 31 in Turin, the building that is its historic headquarters. The announcement was made by the Foundation's chair, Anna Maria Poggi.[1]

The deal

The property was acquired at market value from the Core NordOvest fund, managed by the company Ream, wholly owned by the Piedmontese banking foundations and by pension bodies. According to the Foundation's statement, the deal was made possible by its own financial solidity and does not affect the resources earmarked for projects in Piedmont and the Aosta Valley.[1]

History of the building

Palazzo Perrone di San Martino has been the seat of the Cassa di Risparmio di Torino since 1885 and, later, of Banca CRT. Since 1991 it has housed Fondazione CRT. The building also contains a UniCredit branch, evidence of the palazzo's continuing link with banking activity.[1]

Stated aims

With the acquisition, Fondazione CRT stated its intention to enhance the building's history and make it more accessible to the city. Anna Maria Poggi described the building as "the home of our history and of Turin's history", affirming the intention to safeguard its value and make it better known, visited and lived in.[1]
