Presentation of the Torino Civica List
Date of the event:

On 29 October 2026, at the Holiday Inn in piazza Massaua, the civic list «Torino Civica» was presented in Turin; it will support the centre-right coalition and candidate in the City of Turin's administrative elections in 2027. According to the organisers, the meeting was attended by citizens, entrepreneurs, representatives of institutions and associations, and professionals from Turin [1][2].
The evening
The presentation was moderated by the journalist Beppe Fossati, former editor of Torino Cronaca. The President of the Piedmont Region, Alberto Cirio, spoke, recalling the experience of civic lists in regional elections and their role in the political participation of those who do not identify with traditional parties [1][2].
The founders
The evening was opened by regional councillor (assessore) Gian Luca Vignale together with Alberto Acquaviva, Gregory Massa and Lucrezia Bono, named as the founders of the civic project. Vignale described the evening as a starting point for a path to be built through dialogue with citizens [1][2]. Acquaviva, a journalist and director of the CAF Patronato Multiservizi (tax and welfare assistance centre), pointed to the neighbourhoods and districts (circoscrizioni) as the starting point for change, expressing the hope that the list would not be reduced to a collection of candidacies to reach the 25 names required [1][2]. Gregory Massa, national technical director of GOIA-Fenapi, spoke of the difficulties facing businesses in Turin, citing business closures in the most disadvantaged neighbourhoods running at more than five times the rate of openings [1][2].
Topics discussed
During the meeting, several topics affecting the city were addressed: Monica Negro, a lawyer admitted to practise before the Court of Cassation, spoke about the perception of safety in Turin from a woman's perspective; Professor Sebastiano Marra, head of cardiology at the Koelliker hospital, discussed healthcare as a responsibility of municipalities [1][2]. According to CronacaQui Torino, Martina Polo also spoke, on employment opportunities for people with disabilities, as did Marcello Segre, president of the «Lorenzo Greco» Italian Heart and Resuscitation Association, on prevention, and Sonia Stochino on the subject of teenagers [2].
Next steps
The promoters presented the meeting as the first in a series that will accompany the run-up to the 2027 elections, with the intention of setting up stalls in the city's squares and markets to gather proposals from people who live and work in Turin's neighbourhoods [2].
