NurSind and Nursing Up break off dialogue with the Piedmont Region (October 2026)

On 13 October 2026, the NurSind and Nursing Up unions announce the breakdown of negotiations with the Piedmont Region over the working conditions of healthcare staff, complaining of a lack of response to their demands on hiring, welfare and work organisation.[1]
The main demands concern lifting the freeze on staff turnover and resuming hiring, a firm date for completing the review of healthcare staff numbers, implementation of the agreement on welfare policies, and the signing of the one on arrangements for 118 emergency service staff. The two unions do not rule out industrial action if no concrete signals come from the Region.[1]
