Ninth Edition of Life is Pink in Turin
Life is Pink is the annual campaign promoted in October by the Fondazione Allegra Agnelli for Cancer Research, dedicated to the prevention, treatment and research of women's cancers. The ninth edition kicked off in Turin, with a calendar of initiatives spread between September and October 2026 and a fundraiser benefiting the Istituto Nazionale Oncologico Candiolo (INOC).
The Launch
The official start took place on the evening of Wednesday, September 30, 2026, with the projection of the campaign's new logo onto the facade of la Rinascente in Turin, thanks to the support of Banca Patrimoni Sella & C. and Proietta Srl [2]. The 2026 edition is accompanied by the hashtag #sostienicandiolo and a new symbol, the Life is Pink "pink flower" [2].
Fundraising Goal
The funds raised through the 2026 edition are earmarked for upgrading the technology used for mammography exams at the INOC – Istituto Nazionale Oncologico Candiolo, with the aim of obtaining sharper and more detailed images [1]. The use of artificial intelligence is expected to support doctors in detecting potential abnormalities and to help reduce the need for repeat exams or unnecessary follow-ups [1][2].
The campaign draws attention to data on the incidence of women's cancers in Italy: breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women, with more than 53,000 new diagnoses estimated each year and a five-year survival rate of 88% [1][2]. Among gynecological cancers, cancer of the uterine body accounts for about 8,650 new diagnoses annually, with a five-year survival rate of 79%, while ovarian cancer is estimated at more than 5,400 new cases, with a five-year survival rate of 43% [1][2].
Campaign Events
The first event was the "Pro Am della Speranza – The Green is Pink," a golf tournament held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at Royal Park I Roveri, with 25 teams and 100 players taking part: the initiative raised 140,000 euros in support of Life is Pink [1][2].
During the month of October, campaign merchandise is available online and at various locations throughout the city, including the "Sostieni Candiolo" stand at the entrance of the INOC and a dedicated corner every Saturday at the la Rinascente store [2]. On October 18, VII Rugby Torino took to the field in Life is Pink jerseys for the first matchday of the championship [2]. On October 26, at the Gallerie d'Italia – Torino of Intesa Sanpaolo, the Pink Charity Dinner was held for the third time, organized by the Fondazione Allegra Agnelli for Cancer Research together with the Rotary Club Torino Lagrange [1][2].
