Nadia Conticelli

Nadia Conticelli is a regional councillor for the Democratic Party in Piedmont. In October 2026 she tabled a question on Rai's property disposal plan affecting several historic buildings of its Turin Production Centre.

The question on the Rai disposals

During question time in the Regional Council, Conticelli voiced concern over the disposal plan, which covers the Rai building on via Verdi, built in 1939 and home to historic radio studios, the media library and part of the archives, as well as the Teatro Scribe and the former production centre on corso Giambone ^[1]. According to the councillor, the decision "impoverishes precisely the area where Rai was born", even though the Turin centre "holds unique assets at national level" ^[1].

In her question, Conticelli also flagged the removal of staff's ability to use the vicolo Benevello car park, a decision she said particularly affects employees on shifts involving early-morning starts and night-time finishes, when public transport is limited ^[1]. The councillor asked the regional executive (Giunta) whether it should not promote talks with the company and workers' representatives to assess the plan's impact, including the removal of the car park at the via Verdi site ^[1].

The Region's reply

Replying to the question, councillor Maurizio Marrone announced, in a note read out in the chamber by fellow councillor Gian Luca Vignale, a meeting between the Piedmont Region and the management of Rai's Turin Production Centre, set for 22 October 2026, to look in depth at the planned works and investments ^[1]. According to the councillor, Rai's management explained that the property sale process aims to rationalise space in order to generate resources to support local initiatives, including the creation of the Rai National Archive Hub (Hub Nazionale delle Teche Rai) at via Verdi 14 ^[1]. The company said it was willing to assess specific difficulties linked to parking, and at the end of October a new round of institutional talks was announced, also involving trade unions ^[1].
