Murder in via Verolengo

The murder in via Verolengo is the judicial case linked to the death of Mikel Rroku, a 55-year-old Albanian citizen, whose body, in an advanced state of decomposition, was found on 6 July 2026 in a flat in the Lucento district, in Turin. On 6 October 2026 carabinieri arrested, on charges of premeditated murder, the victim's wife, a 45-year-old Italian woman, and her new partner, a 52-year-old Italian man.

The discovery of the body

The body of Mikel Rroku was found on the morning of Monday 6 July 2026 inside a second-floor flat in an Atc building at via Verolengo 185, in the Torino Nord district. The alarm was raised by neighbours, who had reported an unbearable smell coming from the flat [1][3]. The coroner's examination found a wound to the skull consistent with a blow from a blunt object [1]. In the days following the discovery, it emerged that Rroku had separated from his wife and was living alone in the flat where he was found dead [3].

The investigation and the arrest

The investigation was coordinated by public prosecutor Lea Lamonaca of the Turin public prosecutor's office [1]. At dawn on 6 October 2026 carabinieri from the Vallette station of Turin's investigative unit, coordinated by the public prosecutor's office, carried out a pre-trial detention order against a 45-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man, both Italian, considered responsible for the premeditated murder of Mikel Rroku [1][2]. The two subject to the order are the victim's wife and her new partner [2][3].
