Mirafiori Nord

Mirafiori Nord is a district of the city of Turin. On 22 September 2026, the City Council approved the executive project and the agreement scheme for the redevelopment of the sports facilities at via Rubino 28 and the adjacent green area, on a proposal by the Councillor for Educational Policies and Urban Regeneration Carlotta Salerno, in agreement with the Councillor for Sport and Leisure Domenico Carretta and the Councillor for Green Spaces Francesco Tresso [1][2][3].

The intervention, entirely funded by the Consulta per la Valorizzazione dei Beni Artistici e Culturali di Torino for an amount of 155,000 euros, concerns the sports facility near the former Youth Protagonism Centre «L'isola che non c'è», which includes a basketball court and a five-a-side football pitch with worn-out flooring and equipment [1][3]. The project includes new sports surfaces, the renewal of signage, new fencing and benches, as well as a mural artwork designed by Truly Design Studio [1][3]. The adjacent green area will be transformed into an equipped space with a new children's play area [1][2]. The sports facility is located near Cascina Roccafranca, the Casa del Quartiere of Mirafiori Nord [1]. The works, carried out and funded by the Consulta, are expected to begin in the following months and be completed in 2027; once finished, the facility will become part of the City's assets while retaining its public use [1][2][3].
