On 29 October 2026, at 4.30 p.m., the «Luigi Martini» Civic Library in Monteu da Po, at via San Giovanni 5, hosted a meeting with writer Davide Polcari, titled «Il Medioevo tra la grande storia e le vite degli umili» [1].

The meeting

The event was devoted to historical literature and the Middle Ages, with particular reference to Polcari's novel «Arduino e la Marca di Eporeia», published in 2024 by Baima & Ronchetti and awarded at the «La Quercia del MyR» literary competition [1]. The novel tells a chapter of the medieval history of the Eporediese area (around Ivrea), weaving together historical events and a human dimension [1]. The meeting also explored the author's narrative arc through his novels devoted to Arduino, and the events that marked the relationship between power, the Church and medieval society [1].

The author

Davide Polcari, born in 1978, lived for over thirty years in Ivrea, where he obtained his diploma at the Liceo Gramsci, and graduated in Law from the University of Turin [1]. He now lives in Biella, where he works in the banking sector [1]. Since 2014 he has pursued and shared his passion for medieval history through a Facebook page with about 65,000 followers, and in 2019 he founded what is described as the largest Italian group devoted to the Middle Ages [1]. In 2024 he made his debut in fiction with the novel «Arduino e la Marca di Eporeia» [1].

The library

The meeting is part of the cultural programme promoted by the «Luigi Martini» Civic Library in Monteu da Po, presented as a place for meeting and sharing, open to knowledge, reading and the discovery of authors and works [1].
