The Luigi Martini Civic Library is the municipal library of Monteu da Po, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Turin, located at via San Giovanni 5. The library hosts cultural events open to the public, including author talks dedicated to history and literature. [1]

Cultural activities

On 29 October 2026, at 4:30 pm, the library hosted writer Davide Polcari for a talk titled "Il Medioevo tra la grande storia e le vite degli umili" ("The Middle Ages between great history and the lives of the humble"), dedicated to historical fiction and the fascination of the Middle Ages. [1]

Polcari, born in 1978, lived for over thirty years in Ivrea, where he graduated from the Liceo Gramsci, before earning a law degree from the University of Turin; he now lives in Biella and works in banking. Since 2014 he has shared his passion for medieval history through a Facebook page with about 65,000 followers, and in 2019 he founded what is described as Italy's largest group dedicated to the Middle Ages. The book presented

In 2024 Polcari debuted as a novelist with "Arduino e la Marca di Eporeia" ("Arduin and the March of Eporedia"), published by Baima & Ronchetti and awarded a prize at the literary competition "La Quercia del MyR". The novel tells a story from the medieval history of the Eporedia (Ivrea) area, weaving historical events linked to the figure of Arduin with the relationship between power, the Church and society of the time. The library talk also explored the author's narrative approach to this historical figure. [1]
