March Against the Cost of Living in Alessandria, 30 October 2026

On 30 October 2026 a march took place in Alessandria, promoted by grassroots trade unions, including Adl Cobas, together with students and residents. The demonstration addressed issues related to the cost of living, wages and working conditions, with simultaneous protests also in Casale Monferrato [1].
Demands
The slogans chanted during the march addressed opposition to the cost of living, the call for “decent wages”, opposition to what demonstrators called a “war economy”, and the call for public welfare. The right to health was also asserted, in contrast to what was described as “repression” [1].
Participants
Among the demonstrators were logistics workers, represented by Adl Cobas, who stressed the essential role of their sector in the country, while complaining of working conditions and pay they considered inadequate [1]. Students also took part in the march, protesting against the condition of schools, which they described as dilapidated [1].
Casale Monferrato
Protests were held simultaneously in Casale Monferrato too, with the participation of students, workers and residents. Among the slogans raised there: “You have taken everything from us but not the will to fight. The future is not armed, it is taught” [1].
