Juventus fined over unobserved minute of silence for Sandro Mazzola
On Sunday 20 September 2026, before the kick-off of Juventus-Atalanta at the Allianz Stadium, part of the Curva Sud fans failed to observe the minute of silence dedicated to the memory of Sandro Mazzola, a legendary figure of Inter and the national team who had died the previous day at the age of 83: several fans turned towards the stands and sang chants dedicated to Gaetano Scirea, Andrea Fortunato and Gianni Agnelli, while the rest of the stadium took part in the tribute with applause. The Bianconeri club immediately distanced itself from the incident, stating that «no rivalry can justify a lack of respect during a minute of silence».
On 22 September 2026, the Sports Judge fined Juventus 10,000 euros for the conduct of part of the fans, ruling out the harsher option of a partial, or even full, closure of the Curva Sud: the decision took into account the limited number of people involved relative to the section's overall attendance, the club's swift public stance, and the disassociation shown by the rest of the spectators.
