Gegè Telesforo at the Fonderie Limone (7 November 2026)

On 7 November 2026 the singer and showman Gegè Telesforo performed at the Fonderie Limone in Moncalieri, as part of the grand finale of the 29th edition of the Moncalieri Jazz Festival [1][2].

The concert

Telesforo's show took the form of a «talk-concert»: the stage was turned into a kind of radio studio, with a structure recalling the pacing and rhythms of a radio broadcast but leaving plenty of room for musical and narrative improvisation. According to the artist, the idea grew out of his relationship with radio, which he calls «my first love and my life's training ground», brought to the stage with the physical energy of a live concert [1].

The set list included original songs written for the new album «The Broadcaster», due for release on 5 March 2027 on the American label Ropeadope, alongside reworked jazz standards. Telesforo said he only decides the final set list after «sniffing out» the hall, based on the energy of the audience and musicians, and that he brings some of the fellow musicians in the audience up on stage as a surprise [1].

The Moncalieri Jazz Festival

The 29th edition of the Moncalieri Jazz Festival, directed by maestro Ugo Viola, held its grand finale from 5 to 8 November 2026 at the Fonderie Limone, after a programme of events held around the city starting on 24 October. The programme of the four closing evenings spanned different genres, from contemporary jazz to classical music, from gospel to fusion, including tributes to the centenaries of the births of Miles Davis and John Coltrane [2].

Other highlights of the grand finale include, on 5 November, a double concert by the Luigi Martinale Quartet with the Chamber Orchestra of the «G.F. Ghedini» Conservatory of Cuneo and by Enzo Favata with the «Atlantico» project, dedicated to the memory of drummer U.T. Gandhi; on 6 November a concert by Kurt Elling & Yellowjackets with «Celebrate Weather Report», one of four Italian dates for the project, was held [2].
