Death of a man in Via Saragat in Venaria Reale

On 21 September 2026, in the Altessano district of Venaria Reale, a man of about 80 died after falling from the sixth-floor balcony of his apartment, at via Saragat 3. The incident took place in the morning and became the subject of inquiries by the local police.

The sequence of events

The alarm was raised around 11 a.m., when some residents of the building and of the adjoining buildings, alarmed by a loud noise, noticed the elderly man's body in the condominium courtyard overlooking the street [1]. A call was immediately placed to the single emergency number 112 [1].

The emergency response

Paramedics from the Croce Rossa's 118 emergency service of Settimo Torinese, acting on behalf of Azienda Zero, along with patrols of the Venaria Reale local police and the coroner from the Asl To3, responded to the scene [1][2]. Despite the speed of the response, medical personnel could only confirm the death: according to the sources, the man died instantly from the injuries sustained in the impact with the ground [1][2].

Investigations and hypotheses

Local police officers began inspections and inquiries to reconstruct the circumstances of the incident [1][2]. According to what has emerged, the man lived alone and had been a widower for some time [1][2]. Sources differ on the nature of the incident: CronacaQui Torino speaks of inquiries to clarify the dynamics of the fall, without indicating its cause [1], while TorinoToday reports that the inquiries concern the reasons that would have led the man to a deliberate act, about which, according to this source, "there is no doubt" [2].
