ColoriQuadri
ColoriQuadri is a cultural association active in Settimo Torinese, in the Turin metropolitan area, which promotes public art projects in the municipality's urban spaces. The association is known for organising the Paraculissima art event, which combines urban regeneration works with opening events aimed at residents [1].
The Paraculissima event
The first edition of the event was held in 2025, when ColoriQuadri created the piece «Le basi del futuro» («The foundations of the future») on the trees of the Piazza Campidoglio area in Settimo Torinese, with a colour palette based on shades of light blue, red, green, pink, purple and blue [1]. Following the response to this first edition, the association brought the event back to the city in 2026 with a second edition, Paraculissima 2026 [1].
Artistic direction
The event is led by two artistic directors, Osvaldo Neirotti and Emanuela Guarino [1]. The initiative was welcomed by the mayor of Settimo Torinese, Elena Piastra, and by the city executive (Giunta), with the stated aim of bringing colour back to an area of the city centre considered grey and bare [1].
The «Inconscio» artwork
For Paraculissima 2026 ColoriQuadri conceived the artwork «Inconscio» («Unconscious»), a large-scale chromatic mosaic created in Piazza Campidoglio, in front of the Comune's Biblioteca Multifunzionale (multi-purpose library), built on the site of the historic Paramatti paint factory [1]. Work on colouring the stones began in mid-October 2026 and covered a total area of about 950 square metres, with around 65,000 San Pietrini (traditional Turin cobblestones) worked and painted [1]. The piece has been entered for the Guinness World Record as the largest San Pietrini mosaic in the world [1]. The arrangement of the colours follows a mathematical algorithm combined with artistic choices, forming a cross-shaped texture on the paving [1]. Ten manholes in the area were worked into the piece's narrative layout: six repeat the mosaic's main shades, one depicts a staircase, one was made by young people from the Il Margine cooperative and another bears the artist's signature [1]. The piece also includes a playful element, called «Scoprite l'Intruso» («Spot the intruder»), with one tile of colour that does not match the prevailing tone placed in each large San Pietrini section [1]. The opening of the first part of the artwork took place on 30 October 2026 at 16:30, with mayor Elena Piastra applying the last splash of colour to a special manhole, in place of the traditional ribbon-cutting [1].
