Arrest Under Codice Rosso in Settimo Vittone (September 2026)

In September 2026, in a municipality of the Canavese, carabinieri from the Settimo Vittone Station and the Radiomobile Section of the Ivrea Company arrested in flagrante a 37-year-old local man, accused of threatening his former partner with death and punching her in the face. The intervention triggered the procedures set out under the so-called Codice Rosso, activated by the Ivrea Public Prosecutor's Office [1][2].

The events

In the afternoon of the day of the assault, the woman called the single emergency number 112 after being struck in the entrance hall of the man's home, where she was also allegedly threatened with death by her former partner [1]. The prompt arrival of carabinieri patrols allowed them to stop the attacker before the situation could escalate further [1][2].

The search

During a search carried out at the 37-year-old's home, officers found and seized an air rifle with power exceeding 7.5 Joules, which had been reported stolen in 2007 from a home in Lombardy, four 12-gauge buckshot cartridges for a smooth-bore shotgun, and 24 grams of marijuana [1][2].

The victim's statements

Once brought to the station, the woman told carabinieri about a long period of harassment and aggressive behaviour by her former partner, which had continued even after the relationship ended and which she had never reported before out of fear, and which had caused her severe anxiety and distress [1][2].

The measures taken

The man was arrested for stalking and illegal possession of a common firearm, and reported at liberty for assault and handling stolen goods; he was also reported to the Turin Prefecture for possession of drugs for personal use. He is being held at the Ivrea Remand Prison at the disposal of the Ivrea Public Prosecutor's Office. He is presumed innocent until a final conviction is reached [1][2].
