ATL Terre dell'Alto Piemonte
The local tourist reception and promotion agency Terre dell'Alto Piemonte Biella Novara Valsesia Vercelli is one of the six local tourist agencies (ATL) that make up the organization of Piedmont's tourism system [1]. The ATLs, governed by regional law 14 of 2016, promote the tourist resources of their area, run tourist information and reception offices, assist visitors, and organize cultural, tourist, and sporting events [1].
The agency was formed from the merger of the ATL Biella Valsesia Vercelli and the ATL of Novara, approved in October 2022 also by Vercelli's city council; at the time of the merger, the new body was chaired by Pier Giorgio Fossale, who had previously been president of the ATL of Biella, Valsesia, and Vercelli [2]. It operates with offices in Biella, Novara, Vercelli, and Varallo; the Vercelli office is located in Piazza Municipio, while the Varallo office, on Corso Roma, handles tourist reception in Valsesia [1] [3] [4].
The portal visitvalsesiavercelli.it serves as the agency's tourism showcase for the Vercelli portion of its territory, divided into four areas: Alta Valsesia, Bassa Valsesia, Gattinara with the Baraggia, and the city of Vercelli with the rice-growing lands [4]. The site features itineraries, winter sports, UNESCO sites, outdoor activities, art, food and wine, and crafts, along with practical information on accommodation, dining, guided tours, and local tourist offices [4].
