2026 Piedmont Region grants for Piedmontese sport
Date of the event:
On 26 October 2026, the Piedmont Region published eight new grant calls supporting Piedmontese sport, with total funding of more than €3.5 million. The announcement was made by the regional councillor for Commerce, Agriculture and Food, Tourism, Sport and Post-Olympic Affairs, Hunting and Fishing, Parks, Paolo Bongioanni, in Florence, at the Sports Roundtable chaired by the Minister for Sport Andrea Abodi, as part of the Festival delle Regioni.1,2
Deadlines and amounts
The calls remain open until 23 November 2026; the results for projects deemed eligible and funded are expected by 31 December 2026.1,2 The non-repayable grants, intended to support projects carried out during calendar year 2026, range from a minimum of €500 to a maximum of €150,000, covering between 50% and 90% of project costs.1,2 According to Bongioanni, this is the largest number of measures the Piedmont Region has ever put forward in a single year in this field.1,2
Who can apply
For the first time, all components of the sporting world recognised by Coni and Cip can take part: amateur sports associations and clubs, national sports federations, sports promotion bodies, associated sports disciplines and benefactor associations.1,2 There are no traditional points-based rankings: the councillor said a system will be used to financially support anyone who applies and follows the procedures.1,2
The calls
Among the eight calls is the "Sport for all" measure, a section for sports promotion bodies and benefactor associations, with funding of €300,000 for sports-promotion projects.1 A second section of the same measure, for amateur sports associations and clubs organising non-competitive events with charitable and solidarity aims, has funding of €78,000.1,2 The "Projects for people with disabilities" measure, for amateur sports associations and clubs affiliated with Paralympic sports federations or with Paralympic sections, aimed at inclusion projects, has funding of €150,000.1,2 The "Sporting excellence projects" measure, for the Piedmontese regional committees of sports federations and the Aci, supports the organisational costs of top-level competitive activities and has funding of €255,000.2 The calls also cover support for leading Piedmontese athletes, competitive events, contributions to ski clubs for young people's access to skiing, grassroots sport and Piedmont's traditional sports.1,2
