2025 Annual Report of the Piedmont Region Ombudsman

The Ombudsman (Difensore civico) of the Piedmont Region, Paola Baldovino, presented the 2025 annual report at Palazzo Lascaris: requests for intervention from citizens rose to 776, a 25% increase on the 587 recorded in 2024. In April 2026 the office renewed, with the Housing Agency of Piemonte Centrale (Atc del Piemonte Centrale), the memorandum of understanding in force since 2013, which allows tenants of public housing to turn to the Ombudsman with complaints about maintenance, bills and administrative procedures. ^[4] The Ombudsman acts as a regional guarantee body for the protection of the rights of citizens and organisations, overseeing the impartiality, transparency and efficiency of administrative activity. ^[3] Baldovino had been confirmed in the role on 15 July 2026, with 45 votes in favour from the Regional Council. ^[3]12
