«Un Baffo per la Ricerca» 2026

«Un Baffo per la Ricerca» (A Moustache for Research) 2026 is the tenth edition of the awareness campaign on male urological cancers devised and run by the Fondazione Ricerca Molinette, held on the weekends of November 2026 in Turin and Caselle Torinese ^[1][2].

The campaign

The initiative, launched ten years ago on the wave of the international Movember movement, is dedicated to the prevention of prostate and testicular cancer and supports the research projects of the Urology Clinic of Turin's Molinette Hospital, headed by Professor Paolo Gontero ^[1]. For the fourth year running the campaign includes a Prevention Camper, a mobile medical unit bringing free urological check-ups and consultations directly to the city's squares ^[1][2].

The programme in Turin

The camper will operate every weekend of November, from 10am to 4pm, with the following stops: 7 and 8 November in piazza San Carlo; 14 and 15 November in piazza Santa Rita; 21 and 22 November in piazza Bodoni; 28 and 29 November again in piazza Santa Rita ^[1]. On board, urologists from Molinette Hospital offer free check-ups and consultations to the public ^[1].

The Caselle Torinese event

On Sunday 15 November, alongside the Turin stop, prevention activities also take place in Caselle Torinese, in piazza Boschiassi by the town hall, from 10am to 1pm, in partnership with ASL TO4 (the local health authority) ^[1][2]. Doctors and residents from the Molinette Urology Clinic carry out the check-ups alongside volunteers from the Lions Club of Caselle Torinese, who organise a charity walk to raise funds ^[1].

Statements

The president of the Fondazione Ricerca Molinette ETS, Massimo Segre, said the ten editions confirm the choice to bring urological prevention to the places where people live, and that this edition's goal is to increase the number of check-ups and reach people who have never had a urological examination ^[1][2]. The Piedmont Region's councillor for health, Federico Riboldi, stressed the value of prevention in overcoming the cultural reluctance that leads men to put off check-ups ^[2]. The director of the Città della Salute hospital complex, Livio Tranchida, said that taking the hospital outside its walls strengthens its ties with the community ^[2].
