ZOOM Torino is an immersive bioparco located in Cumiana, along the Torino-Pinerolo road, which opened to the public in 2009. Instead of traditional cages, the animals live in reconstructed habitats; the park is a member of EAZA, the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria, and from the outset has featured a beach where visitors swim alongside African penguins, in a recreation of a South African bay. [1] Today the route includes eleven African and Asian habitats and educational encounters guided by biologists. [2]

The park was founded on the initiative of the Casetta family, with the entry in 2008 of Fondo Nord Ovest and in 2011 of Ersel Investment Club, which invested 7 million euros in the new Madagascar and savannah habitats. [1] In October 2018 the family bought the bioparco back from the funds through the holding company Immersive Society, with an 18 million euro loan from the US fund Magnetar Capital. [3] After the crisis of the first lockdown in 2020, the management company entered into a "concordato in bianco" (a preliminary debt restructuring filing); in November 2020 Magnetar converted part of its credit into equity and launched a recovery plan. [4] In February 2025 ZOOM, controlled by Magnetar, acquired the Parco Natura Viva in Bussolengo, giving rise to the Openature group, with around one million visitors a year and roughly 400 employees. [5]

The site zoomtorino.it is the channel through which the public buys tickets and annual passes, browses the habitats and park news, and books seasonal experiences and events such as the Night Safari or overnight glamping on the savannah. [6] In the Torino Top 100 ranking for September 2026, the site is among the top 5,000 most visited sites in Italy according to Google's Chrome UX Report.
