Walks along the Cammino Don Bosco on 17 October and 15 November 2026

The walks along the Cammino Don Bosco on 17 October and 15 November 2026 are two free circular excursions organised by the Metropolitan City of Turin, the City of Chieri and the Salesian Family, to showcase the three routes of the Cammino Don Bosco. The two outings are run by the amateur sports association Nordic Walking Andrate, tasked by the Metropolitan City with the integrated management of the route.[1][2]

The 17 October walk

The first walk starts and finishes at the Basilica di Superga. The route, 8.6 km long with a climb of 410 metres, passes Bric del Duca, Bric San Giacomo, Beria Grande and Tetti Rocco. Participants are to meet at 8:45, with return expected at 12:15. Registrations are taken until 6pm on Thursday 15 October, by calling 350-1235116 or writing to info@camminodonbosco.eu. A packed lunch can be booked for 13 euros; in the afternoon it is possible to visit the Basilica's cloister and, at 15:30, attend a concert of the Turin Baroque Music Festival 2026, dedicated to the third centenary of the death of the composer Domenico Zipoli: organist Andrea Banaudi will play a monographic programme on the Basilica's organ, built by the Concone brothers in 1789.[1][2]

The 15 November walk

The second walk, a circular route of 8 km with a climb of 170 metres, takes place in Castelnuovo Don Bosco, the birthplace of Saint Giovanni Bosco, and passes Madonna del Castello and the Ranello hamlet. Meeting is set for 8:30 at the creperie "Et hab hic et hab hoc" in piazza Dante 25, with departure at 9 and arrival at 12:15 at the Terre dei Santi social winery in via San Giovanni 6, where a tasting of grape and apple juice and a packed lunch are planned. Registrations are taken until 6pm on Friday 12 November, at the same phone number and email address as the first walk.[1][2]
