Venaus
Venaus is a comune in the metropolitan city of Turin, situated in Val Cenischia. The town has a historic centre, reached via via Antica Reale, which connects to Provincial Road 210.
Administration
The mayor of Venaus is Antonino Basile, who had taken office only a few months before the inauguration of the roundabout on SP 210 in October 2026.[1][2]
Roads
In October 2026 a roundabout was completed at the junction between Provincial Road 210 of Venaus and via Antica Reale, which provides access to the town's historic centre.[1][2][3] The structure, of "compact" type, has an outer diameter of 29 metres, including the paved shoulder; the circulating lane is 8 metres wide and includes the asphalt strip and the kerbing of the flower beds, while the non-mountable central island has a diameter of 13 metres, with 15-centimetre-high stone edge kerbs.[1][2][3]
The work, which cost a total of 250,000 euros, was carried out under an agreement between the Municipality of Venaus and the metropolitan city of Turin, as part of the call for vertical subsidiarity published by the authority in 2020, aimed at supporting the upgrading and safety of the road network under its responsibility.[1][2][3] The metropolitan city allocated a contribution of 170,888.13 euros, while the Municipality covered the remaining 79,111.87 euros.[1][2][3]
In the days before the inauguration, deputy metropolitan mayor Jacopo Suppo, who holds the public works portfolio, visited Venaus for an inspection, meeting mayor Antonino Basile, technicians from the metropolitan city's Road Directorate 2 and the municipal designers.[1][2][3] Suppo described the work as an example of the metropolitan city's approach to working with the area's 312 municipalities, based on concrete action and the search for technically and financially feasible solutions to address problems in the road network under its responsibility.[1][2][3]
