On 19 and 20 September 2026 Turin's mayor Stefano Lo Russo takes part in New York in the 2026 Urban 20 Mayors Summit, the summit that brings together mayors and representatives of the major cities of the G20 countries, at the invitation of New York mayor Zohran Mamdani. Urban 20 is the platform of cities that feeds into the G20 process, convened by C40 Cities and United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG); in 2026 it is co-chaired by New York City and Los Angeles. At the summit, which brings together representatives of more than thirty cities including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Chicago, Los Angeles, Milan, Paris and Rome, Lo Russo speaks on 20 September in the session «Migration, Belonging & the Future of Cities», alongside the mayors of Denver and Freetown and Milan's mayor Giuseppe Sala, presenting Turin's experience with regular labour corridors and inclusion policies.
