Telefono Rosa Piemonte
Telefono Rosa Piemonte is an association based in Turin active in combating male violence against women. Its volunteers work alongside university lecturers in a course dedicated to the subject, organised together with the University of Turin at the Luigi Einaudi Campus.
Collaboration with the University of Turin
Telefono Rosa Piemonte co-organises, together with the University of Turin and with the collaboration of CIRSDe (the Interdisciplinary Centre for Research and Studies on Women and Gender), the course «Male violence against women: from recognition to operational response». The course, now in its fourth edition in 2026, is part of the curriculum of the Degree Course in Administrative and Legal Sciences of Public and Private Organisations in the Department of Law, but is open to students from all courses at the University of Turin [1].
The distinctive feature of the course is the direct dialogue between academic expertise and field experience: each lesson is taught jointly by a University of Turin lecturer and a Telefono Rosa Piemonte volunteer from Turin. Lecturers from ten different university departments contribute to the course [1].
The 2026 edition
The fourth edition of the course began on 24 September 2026 in Room A2 of the Luigi Einaudi Campus, at lungo Dora Siena 100/A in Turin, with an opening session from 11am to 2pm. It was opened by Professor Joëlle Long, course coordinator and CIRSDe chair, and by Professor Carla Tinti, the University of Turin's vice-rector for wellbeing, inclusion, equal opportunities and quality of life [1].
The 2026 edition received the patronage of the Open Council of Europe Academic Networks (OCEAN), the Council of Europe's academic network bringing together universities, research institutes and scholars working on human rights, democracy and the rule of law [1].
Student participation
Interest in the course has grown over the years: in 2025, enrolments on the Moodle platform reached 397, with participants coming not only from Law but also from Psychology, Education Sciences, Humanities and other disciplines. The course runs over the first semester, every Thursday and Friday, for a total of 40 teaching hours [1].
