Taxi Torino is the cooperative that brings together the large majority of Turin's taxi drivers and operates the city's radio-taxi call centre. It was founded on 20 June 2017 from the merger of two historic cooperatives, Cooperativa Radio Taxi Torino and Pronto Taxi Torinese, which operated the city's two call numbers [1] [2]. According to the Italian Competition Authority, it has between 1,400 and 1,500 members, over 90% of the taxi drivers active in the city [1].

The service is part of the non-scheduled public transport regulated by the City of Turin, with agreed fares, and operates around the clock every day of the year [3]. The fleet comprises 1,446 vehicles, more than five hundred of which are hybrid or electric [2]. In the summer of 2017 the Wetaxi app was added alongside the radio call centre [1]. With a ruling of 27 April 2021, the Antitrust Authority found that the by-law clause excluding members who also used other intermediation systems constituted an abuse of a dominant position; in January 2022 the general assembly removed the clause, and on 24 May 2022 the Authority closed its investigation without imposing sanctions [1].

The taxitorino.it website presents the cooperative's services: booking also via app and text messages, out-of-town rides, transport for people with disabilities and for animals, invoicing for businesses, and advertising space on the vehicles [3]. In the Torino Top 100 ranking for September 2026, the site appears among the 100,000 most visited websites in Italy according to Google's Chrome UX Report.
