Strada statale 33 del Sempione
The strada statale 33 del Sempione is a road that crosses the territory of the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, in Piedmont. Its route passes through the municipalities of Anzola d'Ossola, Domodossola and Masera.
The stretch between Domodossola and Masera
In this stretch the road has a single carriageway, with one lane for each direction of travel.[1]
Maintenance works of November 2026
From 6 November 2026, maintenance and pavement restoration works began along the state road, aimed at improving safety and the road surface in intermittent stretches between Anzola d'Ossola and Masera, in both directions.[1]
In the stretch between Domodossola and Masera, alternating one-way traffic was introduced to allow the works to be carried out safely.[1]
From the week of 9 November until Friday 27 November 2026, the worksites moved to the stretch between Anzola d'Ossola and Domodossola, where the carriageway was narrowed in intermittent sections. The work was carried out alternately along the driving lane and the overtaking lane, while traffic was in any case guaranteed on the lane left free.[1]
During the works at the Domodossola junction, the access and exit ramps were temporarily closed to traffic, with traffic diverted onto local roads through dedicated signage.[1]
