Pavement restoration works on the SS33 del Sempione (November 2026)

On 6 November 2026, maintenance and road pavement restoration works officially begin on state road 33 del Sempione, work affecting intermittent stretches between Anzola d'Ossola and Masera, in the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, in both directions of travel. Traffic restrictions
In the stretch between Domodossola and Masera, which has a single carriageway with one lane per direction, alternating one-way traffic is introduced to allow the work to be carried out safely [1].
From the week of 9 November 2026 until Friday 27 November 2026, the worksites move to the stretch between Anzola d'Ossola and Domodossola. Along this stretch the carriageway is narrowed in intermittent sections, with work carried out alternately on the driving lane and the overtaking lane, while traffic is still guaranteed on the lane left free [1].
The Domodossola junction
During the works at the Domodossola junction, the access and exit ramps are temporarily closed to traffic. Traffic is diverted onto local roads through dedicated signage [1].
