The Rete Telematica Piemontese was the regional network project developed in 1987 by CSI Piemonte, the Region's IT consortium, eight years before the birth of the web.1
In 1992 the information system of the Province of Turin, built on this network, was considered the most advanced among Italian administrations, with 200 connected workstations.1
