Renato Romagnoli is the director of the Liver Transplant Centre at Turin's Molinette hospital and regional transplant coordinator for Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta.

In October 2026 he led the operation that, at the Molinette, saved the life of Eirini, a 28-year-old Greek student, with an emergency liver transplant. She had been struck in Greece by fulminant liver failure caused by Wilson's disease and was urgently transferred to Italy under the Italy-Greece organ transplant cooperation protocol.
