Pernigotti
Historic confectionery company from Novi Ligure (Alessandria) that in September 2026 is targeting exports to non-EU markets such as China and the United States.

Pernigotti, a historic confectionery company from Novi Ligure (Alessandria), is taking part for the first time in the Sial trade fair in Paris, from 17 to 21 October 2026, and in the American Buy Italian B2B summit in Stresa, from 29 to 30 September 2026. Both appearances come at the end of a financial year closed in June 2026 with growth; alongside its already established presence in Germany and the United Kingdom, the company is now also targeting non-EU markets such as China and the United States.
The company was founded in 1860, when Stefano Pernigotti opened a grocery store specialising in spices and colonial goods in Novi Ligure, in the same premises as the family emporium that had been active since the eighteenth century; in 1868, together with his son Francesco, he founded the company «Stefano Pernigotti & Figlio» with a capital of 6,000 lire. [3] In August 2022 the American company Jp Morgan Asset Management signed the acquisition of the entire Pernigotti shareholding, including the historic Novi Ligure plant, from the Toksöz Group. [6] In August 2019 the Gruppo Spes, a social enterprise founded in Turin in 1970 and linked to the Opera Torinese del Murialdo, presented a reindustrialisation plan for the production of chocolate and nougat, taking on about 50 workers. [5] In 2018 the company, with almost two hundred workers, risked the closure of the Novi Ligure plant and the relocation of production outside Italy. [4]
