The Rotary Club Cuorgnè e Canavese organized, in the days leading up to 3 October 2026, a public meeting dedicated to the protection of children's rights and the main challenges facing young people. The initiative took place as part of the activities of the Rotary club of the Canavese, in the Province of Turin, and featured as guest the Ombudsman for Children and Adolescents of the Piedmont Region, Giovanni Ravalli.[1][2]

How the meeting unfolded

The initiative drew the attention of numerous Rotary members and other guests interested in the topics discussed. During his address, Ravalli outlined the role of the regional authority in promoting and defending the rights of children and adolescents, focusing on issues of youth distress and the condition of unaccompanied foreign minors. The Ombudsman also stressed the importance of building local networks capable of supporting families and guiding young people through their growth.[1][2]

Particular attention was given to the theme of listening to young people, seen as a tool for understanding their needs and fostering active participation in community life. The debate that followed the talk raised reflections on the role of adults and schools in promoting an inclusive environment attentive to the needs of new generations.[1][2]
