L'Anello di Rifreddo ("The Rifreddo Loop") 2026
Date of the event:

L'Anello di Rifreddo ("The Rifreddo Loop") is a non-competitive run and a 10-kilometre walk with 361 metres of elevation gain, held for the first time on Saturday 7 November 2026 in the municipality of Rifreddo, at the foot of Monviso, in the Province of Cuneo. The event combined a sports route through the woods and trails around the village with a programme of cultural and social activities for the local community.[1][2]
The route and the day's programme
Participants gathered at 9.30am in piazza della Vittoria, with the run and walk starting at 10am. The 10-kilometre route, with 361 metres of elevation gain, crossed the woods and trails surrounding Rifreddo during the autumn foliage season. Alongside the run, a walking group also set off, accompanied by a guide from the Vesulus association. Participants were expected to arrive by 1pm at the Rifreddo Monastery, where refreshments and lunch had been organised.[1][2]
The afternoon events
In the afternoon there was a dance performance by ASD Relevé and an awards ceremony for participants. From 4pm, a guided walk took place with the Giovani di Turno group, part of the «Fessure Photo Festival» diffuse photography festival, dedicated to the village's historic corners through images and photographers' stories. From 5pm the day continued with music, mulled wine, fire and food, until the evening.[1][2]
Organisation
The initiative was promoted by the Municipality of Rifreddo in collaboration with several local organisations: Rifreddo Calcio, the Giovani di Turno group, the Pro Loco (local tourist association) of Rifreddo, ASD Relevé, the Vesulus hiking and cycling guides association, the Luna Lucebat association and US Sanfront, along with numerous volunteers involved in organisation, safety and hospitality along the route.[1][2]
Rifreddo's mayor, Elia Giordanino, said the initiative stemmed from the wish to showcase the area and from the local community's ability to work together, thanking the associations, groups, guides and volunteers who helped organise the first edition.[1][2]
