Interforce raid at Barriera di Milano and Parco Sempione (1 October 2026)

On 1 October 2026 a joint police operation combed through the Barriera di Milano district of Turin and the Parco Sempione area: 67 people were identified, 9 were reported to the authorities and 14 exclusion orders were issued barring people from the park area. It was not the first operation of this kind in the area: on 11 August 2026 a similar high-impact check in Barriera di Milano and Parco Sempione had led to the identification of about 250 people, 8 arrests and the seizure of nearly a kilogram of drugs, including cocaine, hashish and heroin. A similar operation, carried out on 14 July 2026, had led to 11 arrests and the seizure of more than 21,000 drug pills in the Parco Sempione area. [4]
On 11 November 2025 Turin's Squadra Mobile had arrested five people for drug dealing between Parco Sempione, Barriera di Milano and San Donato, bringing the total number of arrests in the preceding two weeks to eight. [5]
On 22 January 2026 an earlier operation had already cleared the former Sempione swimming pool, which had been illegally occupied: of the 28 people identified, 20 were reported for trespassing on land and buildings, while demolition of the unauthorised structures in the area began ahead of its redevelopment.
