Graffiti against Vannacci in Barriera di Milano
Date of the event:
During the night between 1 and 2 November 2026 a group of people defaces walls and shutters in piazza Bottesini, in Turin's Barriera di Milano district, with graffiti against Roberto Vannacci, leader of Futuro Nazionale. The graffiti, painted in black and red, affects several buildings and businesses on the square. At least five people are believed to have taken part in the action, which was filmed in a video showing them damaging the surfaces. [1]
The first episode
A similar episode had occurred during the night between 31 October and 1 November 2026, also in the Barriera di Milano district. At around two in the morning, two people with their faces covered by wigs painted a wall with the phrase «Si fossi foco Vannacci! Ardere» ("If I were fire, Vannacci! Burn"), a reworking of the line by the medieval poet Cecco Angiolieri, «S'i fosse foco, ardere'i lo mondo» ("If I were fire, I would burn the world"). The scene was captured by a security camera installed along the street, outside a house in the neighbourhood. [1][2]
Vannacci's complaint
Roberto Vannacci himself shared the video on social media, commenting: «Young people who do nothing all day deface the city at night.» In the post he added: «Tonight, Turin, Barriera di Milano. They must be taken one by one, house by house, and must pay to the last cent.» [1][2]
Political reactions
The regional deputy coordinator and provincial coordinator of Futuro Nazionale, Enrico Forzese, described those responsible as «the usual vandals, hooligans with covered faces, dressed as clowns» and spoke of «death threats against the general, met with the complicit silence of the left», adding that if the same threats had been directed at someone else «people would be talking about terrorism». [1][2] Councillor Verangela Marino, leader of the Fratelli d'Italia group in District 6, denounced the episode on Facebook, calling it «an act that goes well beyond simple incivility» and noting that the financial consequences will fall on property owners and shopkeepers, who will have to pay the cleaning costs out of their own pockets.
