Gino Rossetti was an Italian footballer, a forward for Torino Football Club between 1926 and 1934, known for forming the so-called «Trio delle Meraviglie» («Trio of Wonders») together with Giulio Libonatti and Adolfo Baloncieri.[1]

Arrival at Torino and the Trio delle Meraviglie

Signed by Torino from Spezia in September 1926, Rossetti quickly established himself as a powerful, determined forward with a left-footed shot feared by goalkeepers of the era. With Libonatti and Baloncieri he formed the «Trio delle Meraviglie», one of the best-known forward lines in the history of Italian football.[1]

Numbers and records

In eight seasons wearing the granata shirt, Rossetti made over two hundred appearances and scored 144 goals. In the 1928–1929 season, which ended with the Scudetto title, he scored 36 goals in 30 matches: a record for the Italian single-group championship that stood unbeaten for almost ninety years.[1]
